Giving Tuesday - an opportunity in our LCTA family

As many of you know, our beloved school Nurse Jasmine Wood’s husband, Kenneth, was diagnosed with a Grade IV Glioblastoma brain tumor mid-October. Nurse Wood, Kenneth and their two sons remain faithful and hopeful for the best possible outcome, and are treating his cancer aggressively with both chemotherapy and radiation.

In addition to Nurse Wood’s role as a caregiving wife and mother, she is continuing to come to school every day to care for our very own children which is a true testament to her continued dedication to our school and one of the many reasons she was just awarded “Nurse of the Year."

The Woods are being fully supported by their personal friends and church community with meals, rides and other miscellaneous needs as they arise.

Our LCTA PTA asked how we may best support the Wood family, and Nurse Wood has graciously agreed to allowing us help send their family on a vacation, an escape from their new life with cancer. Ideally, the Woods will embark upon a cruise over spring break of next year, but we would like to be able to offer them the flexibility to travel how and when Kenneth’s treatment and health allows; therefore, we are setting a fundraising deadline of Friday, December 21st, the last day of school. In the spirit of Thanksgiving, can you help us raise $20,000 this month to buoy the Wood family’s spirits and help provide them with an opportunity to spend some additional quality and fun-filled time together? I know they would be so grateful for this opportunity. To donate, please click on the following link:
