Uniform Locker Open 12/8, 7:45 AM Our school is a uniform school. As such, to help support our families, the PTA runs a Uniform Locker, which is stocked with gently used uniform items for your family to shop free of charge. Our Uniform Locker will be open this Friday 12/8 at drop off, from 7:45 am - 8:30 am. It is located by the side doors of the school, facing the parking lot.

Alexandria Gazette Packet Submissions Due 12/11 The Alexandria Gazette Packet invites children from all of our schools to submit visual art and writing for its annual Children's and Teens' Gazette. In this long-standing tradition, the Alexandria Gazette Packet, publishing images of all types of visual art forms, from drawing, painting, printmaking, and graphic design to sculpture, extended media, crafts, and more. It also welcomes written works such as poetry, essays, opinion pieces, and short stories. See more by going to http://www.connectionnewspapers.com/PDFs/ and scrolling down to the Children's Edition. The anticipated publishing date for Children's and Teen's Gazette 2023 is the week of December 20, 2023. How to submit:

1. Artwork should be photographed or scanned and provided in jpeg format. These can be submitted via Google Drive. Writing should be submitted in text format (docx or Google Docs) or pasted in the body of an email.

2. We ask that all submissions be digital so they can be sent through email.

3. Identify each submission as follows:

School Announcements Parent Coffee 12/8 Mark your calendar for our next LCTA parent coffee THIS Friday, December 8! You won’t want to miss the presentation by Janet Reese, ACPS Parent Support Specialist. She’ll be sharing tips for parents to help our children navigate the holiday season! Coffee and a light breakfast will be served at 8:15 am. The presentation begins at 8:30 am.

Girls Scouts Daisy Troop Meeting 12/11, 1/8, 1/15 You're invited to join our new LCTA Girls Scouts Daisy Troop! These initial sample meetings will all be held in the LCTA Cafeteria on Monday 12/11, 1/8, and 1/15 at 6:30 pm, where we will start the Girl Scout experience for your Kindergarteners and 1st graders. At the end of the sessions, we will have the option to continue as a full troop or explore other local troop opportunities. The fee is $25 for your daughter to participate in the start-up, which covers staff time and supplies, and of course there is financial assistance if you need it. Lost and Found Our Lost and Found racks are quite full! The Lost and Found is conveniently accessible for students on a daily basis in the cafeteria and for families before and after school out on the front sidewalk. If you prefer to browse at a different time, feel free to visit the office. We kindly request that you label your student's clothing with their name to avoid items being misplaced.
