HOLIDAY GIVING OPPORTUNITY: The Lyles-Crouch Children's Fund As the holiday season approaches, members of our community have asked how they can give assistance, especially since we are not able to do our traditional Angel Tree this year. Please consider making a donation to the Lyles-Crouch Children's Fund. Donations will be used to provide essentials for our Lyles-Crouch students in need.
Donations are tax deductible and can be made online (see link below) or via cash/check (payable to LCTA PTA) and brought to the front office. Checks can also be mailed to the school:

NATIVE AMERICAN HERITAGE RESOURCE
For November's General Membership meeting in light of Native American Heritage month, we heard from A'lice Myers-Hall, President of the American Indian Society of Washington, D.C., educator, retired military, and member of the Lenape tribe. She gave an amazingly insightful and visual presentation! We now have a wonderful resource for our students and those in our community who would like to learn more about American Indian history and culture. Presentation slides can be found here.
INTERPRETATION BUDGET
Did you know that almost one out of three students enrolled in ACPS is an English language learner? And 121 native languages are spoken by our Alexandria families? We are proud of this rich multicultural diversity that can transform our school communities into vibrant learning spaces. ACPS is receiving a record number of interpretation and translation requests to support our virtual environment. The LCTA Community has benefited from the services of these interpreters, to include at our PTA meetings. If you would like to make a donation to Alexandria's PTA Council to support the interpretation/translation budget, you can contribute here:
360 INCLUSION COMMITTEE
December is Special Education and IEP Awareness on our Heritage Calendar!
Let's Read Together!
"Heritage Month Book List"
What better way is there to celebrate with children the diverse cultures and families that are a part of the LCTA school community than with books? Every month we post a reading list that accompanies the Heritage theme for the month. December's informative and inspiring book list, focusing on Special Education, was created by our one and only Ms. Yonkers.
To join the 360 Committee, or if you have questions and comments about 360, please reach out to April Bryant and Alexis Doxey at 360inclusioncommittee@lctapta.org
