LCTA PTA eROAR, February 4th, 2022

Congrats to Ms. Reed and thanks to all who submitted nominations! The Virginia Department of Transportation received over 170 nominations for more than 50 crossing guards across the state. Ms. Cora Reed was one of six winners of the Most Outstanding Crossing Guard Award for 2021! Ms. Reed has been at her crossing guard post for nearly 50 years serving, protecting, educating countless students throughout all kinds of weather conditions at the famous Gibbon St intersection. This recognition at the state level is well deserved. National Crossing Guard Appreciation Day is Wednesday February 9th. Students will be sent home with thank you cards to fill out and return on Wednesday. The PTA will have an appreciation drop off box for Ms. Reed Wednesday morning at the Gibbon St intersection. Looking forward to making Feb 9th a special day for Ms. Reed! https://www.virginiadot.org/programs/srts_crossing_guard_appreciation_day.asp
