Lion Fest: We need your help! Lion Fest, our one and only school fundraiser is revamped this year. It will include a spirit week, a celebration pep rally, a donation challenge and an online auction! Online Auction We will host an online auction from Oct 27-Nov 2. We are collecting auction items through THIS FRIDAY 10/13. If you have anything to contribute - a vacation property, tickets to an upcoming sporting events, a pool party for kids, etc - please reach out to elisabeth.pearson@gmail.com or halley.coyne@gmail.com or visit https://www.lctapta.org/lionfest-23-24. Spirit Week 10/31 - Dress Up Like your Favorite Character Day 11/1 - Accessorize with School Spirit (crazy socks, cool hair or funny hats) 11/2* - Let your Spirit Roar Pep Rally Dress down day. Wear your school colors: blue, white and add a pop of yellow/gold! Parents and caregivers, join us on the playground during your students’ encore time on 11/2 to celebrate an amazing week of fundraising. The Lyles-Crouch lion will be there to kick off a dance party. Grade 3- 8:15 am Grade 4- 9:05 am Grade 5- 9:55 am K- 12:05 pm Grade 1- 12:55 pm Grade 2- 1:45 pm *class photos will be taken during the event Donation Challenge We are hoping to have 100% participating this year in our donation drive. Spirit Wear: Socks Store (Order by 10/13) Our Spirit Wear tab is live again on our website, this time for ordering our LCTA Lions socks! Order your Lyles-Crouch Lions Socks HERE! Orders are due by midnight Friday, October 13th. Socks can be picked up outside the school main entrance on Friday, October 27th at drop off and pick up. Just in time for Spirit Week at Lion Fest!

Reflections Art Contest: Enter Today! It's time to send in your Reflections submissions! All students from K-5 are eligible and can enter their work in six categories reflecting this year's theme: "I am hopeful because..."! Explore the arts and express yourself! Categories for submission are dance choreography, film production, literature, music composition, photography, visual arts, and special artist division. Uniform Locker Open 10/13 (AM + PM) Our school is a uniform school. As such, to help support our families, the PTA runs a Uniform Locker, which is stocked with gently used uniform items for your family to shop free of charge. The Uniform Locker will be open on Friday 10/13 from 7:45-8:30 am and again from 2:30-3:15 pm. It is located by the side doors of the school, facing the parking lot.

School Announcements Costume + Candy Collection We are accepting donations of gently used costumes to donate to LCTA students/families who might need a costume for the holiday or for Lion Fest. If you have any costumes to donate, please drop them off in the front office between October 10th-20th! Starting November 1st, we will be collecting any leftover candy that you may have after trick or treating, to donate to a local charity. Picture Day 10/23 Mark your calendars for Picture Day on Monday 10/23! Students must wear their uniforms. Parent Coffee 10/27 Please join us on Friday 10/27 at LCTA for our first Parent Coffee of the year! The topic for this first get together will be "Supporting Students to Make Healthy Choices," and will be featuring guest speaker Ms. Emma Beall, Coordinator for the Substance Abuse Prevention Coalition of Alexandria for the City of Alexandria. Coffee will be served beginning at 8:15 am, and the speaker will begin at 8:30 am. We look forward to seeing you! Please check in at the main office upon arrival. National School Lunch Week This week is National School Lunch Week! We are calling all heroes to help us celebrate the power of school lunch! (Thanks to Ms. Purdy and her awesome cafeteria team for feeding us healthy and delicious food each day!!!) In the quest for academic success, research shows that healthy school lunches give kids the stats they need to come out on top.

October Cafeteria Menu The October Cafeteria Menu follows below, thanks to our wonderful Cafeteria Manager, Ms. Purdy! *Please note a menu change to the image below: The hot honey chicken sandwich TODAY (Wednesday 10/11) will be substituted with a play off of the gold rush sandwich from Roy Rogers; it will be a chicken, honey, bacon sandwich.
