REFLECTIONS PROGRAM 2022-23
TWO WEEKS TO DEADLINE: OCTOBER 28TH, 2022
This program is a fantastic way to boost student confidence through participating in this arts-based competition. This is a national competition, and each year, over 300,000 students in Pre-K through Grade 12 create original works of art in response to a student-selected theme. This 50+ year-old program helps them explore their own thoughts, feelings and ideas, develop artistic literacy, increase confidence, and find a love for learning that will help them become more successful in school and in life.
The 2022-23 Reflections theme is "Show Your Voice!"
Students submit their completed works of art in one or all of the available arts categories: Dance Choreography, Film Production, Literature, Music Composition, Photography, Visual Arts.
We would love to have your child(ren) apply to this competition. Last year, our LCTA students did very well and we had multiple students place in the Alexandria city level, with a student even going on to place in the State level competition! Winners receive trophies, certificates, and first place winners receive a $25 gift card from the LCTA PTA!
LCTA Application Deadline: October 28, 2022
Application and rules can be found at www.lctapta.org/reflections2022

Walk-A-Thon Fundraiser NOW OPEN!
THIS IS OUR LARGEST FUNDRAISER OF THE SCHOOL YEAR. OUR GOAL FOR THIS EVENT IS $45,000.
When: Monday, October 31st, 2022
What: Each child will participate in the Walk-A-Thon (to the best of their ability) during their class designated Encore period. Each grade will have 45 minutes to complete as many laps as possible. It will take a few minutes to get everyone going and to get everyone back to class, so they will not be running/walking the entire 45 minutes…but they will have plenty of time to get in some good laps! This year, the Walk-A-Thon is being held on the Core Knowledge Book Character Dress-up Day. So that means the students will be running or walking in costume, if they choose to dress up. Please keep this in mind!
Calling all Lyles-Crouch parents who would like to be part of the super fun for Walk-A-Thon. Please see our SignUpGenius link for the tasks we need helpers for.
